We started our relationship with bees many, many years ago when we lived in Brooklyn and had backyard hives. Unfortunately, some neighbors using pesticides for their gardens spelled catastrophe for the bees. Nonetheless , we had the honor and privilege to work with some stellar people who assisted us in maintaining what were for a time, healthy and productive homes for the bees. Since moving to the beautiful Berkshires, our beekeeping experience has become more rewarding and I believe, much more beneficial to the bees that we keep. If I were asked to point out the reasons for this difference, I’d point to the obvious idyllic and bountiful environment, and to Asher Silverwolff !!!!
Working with Asher as caretakers of our apian family has increased our devotion and greatly heightened our appreciation of these marvelous creatures. While he is in obvious possession of a wealth of wisdom as it regards bees, Asher doesn’t present himself as a “know it all “, but rather is guided by his curiosity, his sense of awe and wonderment, all of which serves as a constant reminder that there is always more to learn. Asher, in turn, is consistent in manner, whether it be with the bees or his fellow humans. He approaches all with respect and humility and most importantly, a gentle touch.
We are immensely grateful for his support and his generosity of spirit.
