Here is a quote from one of our students from the Adolescence Experience program at Montessori School of the Berkshires' "mindful beekeeping class". The Adolescent Experience students successfully fund raised to hire Bee Resonance Project to install 3 top bar hives and teach the students for the season.
Here is what Frannie, one of the students had to say about her time in our beekeeping program:
"As I've dealt with the bees over the last year and a half, my fear of bees has completely disappeared, and my love for them has grown to a monstrous amount!! I have always known how cool bees were, but in the past year, I have learned that bees are even cooler than I could have ever imagined. In my opinion, the coolest thing I have learned is that the Queen Bee of a hive can pick the gender of her pupa/babies!!! My fear of them really disappeared last year when we were introducing bees in one of the hives, and we had to take them out of the box they were transported in. This was the first time any of us had done this, so I was completely terrified, but as we knocked the bees out of the box, I was completely expecting them to fly out and try to sting me, but the bees were so calm and gentle, I realized that as long as I was calm, they would be calm too. Bees are now one of my favorite animals, and I can't wait to work with them more."
